The single best short summary I’ve read of the both beautiful and awful effects of the Six Day War. They forgot to write that the Palestinians (read, Hamas or whoever is strongest gang on the street that controls “policy”) will never give up the right of return or recognize Israel, but otherwise the Economist’s conclusion sums it up:
“For peace to come, Israel must give up the West Bank and share Jerusalem; the Palestinians must give up the dream of return and make Israel feel secure as a Jewish state. All the rest is detail” (or commentary: “That which is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor. That is the whole Torah; all the rest is commentary. Now go and study.”).
